Hannah Duder, a tutor at CH in 2013, has won a $10,000 grant to develop an app which she hopes will encourage young people to vote.

PHOTO Hannah DuderHannah, who is studying law and accounting, was the top prize winner out of 1000 who applied to The Shoulder Tap, an initiative run by IT entrepreneur Derek Handley. The top 100 nominees were asked to identify a problem and come up with solutions.

Hannah was concerned that 40% of 18-24 year olds didn't vote in the last elections. Her winning app matches users with political party policies, helping them choose who they should vote for in a fun and easily accessible way.

Last year Hannah also won the University of Canterbury Entre Awards App section with another app, The Suggestion Box, which allows businesses to receive feedback and suggestions from members of the public.

Congratulations Hannah, we are so proud of your fantastic achievement.
