The Architecture of College House

Last year we commissioned a short film on the architecture of College House that was designed by Sir Miles Warren and his firm, Warren and Mahoney. We wanted to capture the essence of Sir Miles' design and the stories behind the architecture of one of New Zealand's most beautiful buildings.

To watch the video click here and walk with Sir Miles around the quad, chapel and library whilst he talks about how the buildings were commissioned, and why it was designed in such a different way from most university halls of residence.

Sir Miles won the New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA) Gold Medal in 1969 for his work on College House and then won the NZIA Enduring Award in 1999.

Filmed by CH alumnus, Seung-woo Hong (2011-12), we're proud to invite you to watch this short film.
