Ryan Harper has been awarded the Girdlers' Scholarship to study at Cambridge University. This is the most prestigious award available to a school leaver.

Ryan will remain at College House until the last term, when he will leave to take up his place at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge for the start of the British academic year in October.

Ryan attended the New Zealand Chemistry Olympiad Training Camp at Auckland last year. He toured Britain and Ireland with the Lindisfarne College rugby team in 2003, he has been a trialist for the New Zealand Under 18 Basketball team, and has had national success in showjumping. Ryan holds a Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Award and is also involved in public speaking and drama.

A second College House student was also shortlisted for the Girdlers' Scholarship and the college congratulated both students in dinner on 21 March.
